Kaleb Pictures

Sorry it's been a while since I've done anything on this blog. I know you all understand though, this past month has been a very long, very busy one for us here in the Wilson household. Kaleb has been doing exceptionally well since his release from the hospital on the 15th. He's quite the little guy! He's a great little eater too! When Kaleb left the hospital on the 15th he weighed about 7lbs 4-5oz. Five days later he weighed in at 8lbs. 4oz. when we took him into the Doctor's to be circumcised. Then this past Monday, another 5 days from the last weigh in Kaleb weighed 9lbs 4 oz! So in 10 days Kaleb has gained almost 2 pounds! Needless to say, I'm not worried about whether he's getting enough to eat! What a little CHUNK!

Anyway here's some pictures from our most recent outing. Richard and I took all of the kids to Seal Beach so the girls could fly kites, for the first time ever! We all had a blast. I think Kai the most though. He sure loved the sand! He liked to crawl in it, roll in it, walk on it, and most of all I think he like to eat it! Enjoy the pics, and I promise I'll try and update this more often!

Look at those hands!

Desperation at it's Greatest!

Taking the castor oil yesterday didn't really work at all for me. Mainly because I took the recommended dosage off of the bottle, too afraid to take the 3 Tbsp. that was recommended by all the home birthing websites. I started having strong contractions shortly after taking the castor oil yesterday that lasted all day and evening, but by nighttime they were gone, and I was too chicken to take more... After walking today again, still with no major changes, (the contractions are there, but not getting stronger or closer) I'm desperate enough to do ANYTHING to get this labor into full swing! So Richard and I stopped by the drug store and picked up more castor oil. When we got home I tried to take 3 Tbsp Castor Oil with OJ and 1 tsp baking soda to NO AVAIL! I couldn't get the stuff down! Richard just stood there watching me gag and spit up the nasty concoction, and it got him thinking. (This is one of the reasons why I LOVE THIS MAN SO MUCH!!!) He came up with a BRILLIANT idea! You see I have a really hard time swallowing ANY liquid that is foul tasting, and always have. But I've never had a problem swallowing pills, even big 'ole horse pills. So he had me try to swallow a cherry tomato whole. SUCCESS! Then he made me what we're dubbing TOMATO BOMBS to swallow whole. Basically he emptied out a cherry tomato with a straw, filled it with castor oil, and I swallowed it whole with a lot of water. The whole making process took a while, and swallowing smaller, easier to swallow whole cherry tomatoes definitely took a while. But we got results! I was able to get down 3 Tbsp of castor oil with NO problems!! (Did I mention how much I LOVE this man!?) He's so creative! Indeed my knight in shining armor!!! Here's some pictures to better amuse you....

Voila! A Tomato Bomb

<3 Then and Now <3

Richard and I at Disneyland in March of 1998.
In this picture I am 14, and he is 16.
Still not dating at this point.

Here we are after we first started dating in March of 2004.
Boy, was he overjoyed!

Here we are on our wedding day.
September 13, 2005.

Who'd have thought that two crazy kids that met at Magic Mountain
on June 28th 1997 would end up marrying each other 8 years later?

It's like looking at Kai...

When Kai was born, and up until a few months ago he looked EXACTLY like Richard's baby pictures. Then around 6 or 7 months he started to look more and more like Richard now, and more like ME as a baby. Here's a few baby pics of mine, that when I see them, it's as if I'm looking at Kai... he doesn't look 100% like me, but expressions and such, there's a definitive resemblance!

Especially this one. He makes this EXACT face!!

I came across this picture of my mom when she was younger. There are a series of these, but this is the only one I have. I've had this picture since high school, where I used to keep it in my room. I've always thought she looked stunning in this picture. It's one of my favorites!

Playing with Color

I've been taking random pictures of things around the house lately, inspired by some of my favorite blogs I peruse... So here's a few pics I've taken of some of my favorite things, and then I tweaked the colors a little... it's been quite relaxing I must say.

The topper to one of my favorite perfume bottles.

My perfume bottle collection...

A piece of fabric I fell in love with, and bought.
(It is pretty much this bright in reality)

Another fabric I found and fell in love with, also this bright in reality.

So there you have it, four totally random pictures, and one totally random blog about a hobby of mine, photography. (Oh the things I'll be able to do when I get my digital SLR... someday...)

It's Coming along... slowly

The baby bedding that I am sewing (with my Aunt's assistance) is coming along at a snail's pace. I think it's a combination of both being in the final throes of pregnancy, and intimidation. I am a bit intimidated by this project, the pattern, my sewing machine, my scissors... it's all a bit scary at times. I will be victorious however!! Here's a look at the fabrics I have chosen... it won't be perfect in the end, but it will be bright and colorful! Just how I like it!

Here's a quick picture of the bumper. Not finished... but getting there.

The Unintentional Egg Experiment

So I discovered that Kai like egg yolk, and have been making it for him a few times a week. He can't have egg whites because of the allergies (for now at least) so the first morning, I decided to cook the yolks the same way I cook eggs sometimes. The faster way; the microwave. WOOPS! I had no idea that after a mere 20 seconds in the microwave egg yolks explode! I heard this loud and this is what I saw when I opened my microwave. =o( What a disaster! Cleaning it proved to be VERY challenging.

He is getting SO big!

I can't believe how big Kai is getting! Mischevious too! He's an absolute joy though. He's so much fun. The girls enjoy playing with him, and even when it's rough-housing he's right in the thick of it with them. He's looking more and more like his Daddy now. Here's a couple of recent pictures of Kai.

Kai and his Jack Nicholson eyebrows.... "Here's Johnny!" =o)

Don't let the cuteness deceive you, he's ornery as all get out!

Christmas Day 2007

Christmas was nice this year. We picked up the girls in the morning and went over to my mom's. We didn't go anywhere else this year which was especially nice. I did not want to spend the day driving all over southern california pregnant, with three kids in the car. No fun. So at Grandma Robin's we stayed. My brother, sister in law, and niece joined us in the afternoon, as well as Grampa Steve, (Richard's dad). Boy the girls sure made out like bandits this year! All three sets of grandparents spoiled them rotten this year, and they loved every minute of it! They pretty much got everything on their Christmas list, and a few things that weren't. Richard and I weren't able to do much of anything this year, so it was nice to watch the girls excitement over every gift, and know that they were happy. Especially when the pony was revealed. Grampa Steve bought Cassidy the electronic FurReal pony that she's wanted for the last year. It was too big to wrap, and when she saw it in the back of his truck she screamed and jumped up and down! She had the same reaction that Corinne had when she opened up her makeup. I am determined however, starting next year, to find a way to really emphasize the reason we celebrate Christmas, and focus on that. I'd like to start a tradition. Any suggestions? Anywhoo, Richard and I really enjoyed ourselves, even though we seemed to be a bit overwhelmed at times. Why do holidays tend to get so stressful? Probably because we took our focus off of Christ, if only for a moment... We had an early Christmas dinner, and it even though there wasn't enough room at the table for everybody, it was a very enjoyable, yummy dinner. (Right Richard? =oP)-private joke sorry- Thanks Mom for all of your hard work in the kitchen! The turkey was moist and scrumptious, the ham was of course amazing, and all of the side dishes were great! Big success! Here's some pics from Christmas Day.

(I just discovered that if you're having a hard time seeing the pics because they're on the smaller side, if you click on them it pulls it up in a full screen.)

Merry Christmas!
