Happy Birthday Corinne!

Photobucket

You are 5 years old today! Wow!! Where has the time gone? Mommy can't quite believe that you are already 5 years old! I woke up this morning thinking back to the day you were born. I drove myself to the doctors visit, found out I was in labor, and then I drove myself home to cook you dad some dinner. I finally went to the hospital at 8:30pm, and at 10:11pm you were put into my waiting arms... a little goopy bundle of joy!! You are such a joy too! You are the sweetest, most precious thing on this earth! You bring me such joy, truly. God has truly blessed you my sweet child, and I am honored to be your Mother. No one will ever break the bond that you and I share, and my dear child, I can't wait to see what this next year brings you!! I love you baby girl, and can't wait until you are back in my arms again!

It's Finished!

I am proud to say that the baby bumper I've been working on for Kaleb is finished! I'm so incredibly excited about that! For those of you who don't know, I've never sewn before. Until recently if anything needed mending, or a missing button put back on, Richard was the one to do it. I couldn't even knot thread!! Well those days are OVER! Not only did I finish the bumper, but I had to do so by hand, because the thickness was too much for my sewing machine to handle. This baby bedding project was at first a bit too much to handle, and incredibly frustrating, because the pattern was insanely hard to follow. Here's the completed bumper, (except for some basting stitches that still need to come out)

It's not perfect, but I think it looks pretty darn good for my first sewing project ever!
Sewing has been such an enjoyable relaxing experience for me that I've started playing around with it and experimenting. Here's some of the other stuff I've been playing around with.

Here's my first attempt at embroidery... I found bags of craft buttons at the 99 cent store and they were really cute... so I just started playing around (with the plain jane buttons...)

Here's my first project for one of the girls.... I made this tutu for Corinne, and she just loved it. It's still not 100% done. I need to add the ribbon to it, but she didn't want to wait, she had to wear it asap!

I've been ridiculously crafty lately, and I've enjoyed every second of it! I never considered myself a creative person... until now. =oD

Baby Shower Goodies

So Saturday was my sister-in-laws baby shower, and I've been working on a couple of different projects for her. I made her 4 burp cloths, (2 of which can also be used as washcloths) and 2 onesies. I also made my niece a mini burp cloth to match her mom's. Now obviously being my first time to ever make these, they aren't perfect, but I poured a lot of love into them, so hopefully she likes them as much as I do... and hey, they are all one of a kind! Now the two onesies aren't completely finished. I still need to try my hand at embroidering them a little... hopefully they will be completely done by tonight, and I'll post more pics!

Here's pix of the goodies!

Silly Boys

Here's some recent pictures of Kai and Richard being goofy boys. As you can see Kai definitely gets it from his daddy!
