The Unintentional Egg Experiment

So I discovered that Kai like egg yolk, and have been making it for him a few times a week. He can't have egg whites because of the allergies (for now at least) so the first morning, I decided to cook the yolks the same way I cook eggs sometimes. The faster way; the microwave. WOOPS! I had no idea that after a mere 20 seconds in the microwave egg yolks explode! I heard this loud and this is what I saw when I opened my microwave. =o( What a disaster! Cleaning it proved to be VERY challenging.

He is getting SO big!

I can't believe how big Kai is getting! Mischevious too! He's an absolute joy though. He's so much fun. The girls enjoy playing with him, and even when it's rough-housing he's right in the thick of it with them. He's looking more and more like his Daddy now. Here's a couple of recent pictures of Kai.

Kai and his Jack Nicholson eyebrows.... "Here's Johnny!" =o)

Don't let the cuteness deceive you, he's ornery as all get out!

What's New in the Neighborhood....

So here's what's new in the Land of Wilson...

Kai is getting SO big SO fast, and has a whole new bag of tricks! He's starting to just jabber away! Here's the list of words he says regularly. "BYE" "HI" "DADDY" "MAMA" "BABA" "CASSIDY" (though it sounds more like 'ADDUHDEE") and now it sounds like he's starting to say "BABY". I'm trying to get him to say Corinne, but we're not there yet. He's getting much braver too! He's starting to stand on his own now, and he's wanting to be walked around a lot more! He walks a little sideways, especially if he's just holding on to one hand for assistance. He's also developing quite the temper, or I guess I should say his temper is really starting to show itself. Yay for Mommy. =o) He's not going to be that super duper easy, laid back kid like his Daddy that we were hoping for. Nope. Instead he's going to have the stubborness, strong-will, and temper of the Burbridge's, just like Me, Cassidy, and Corinne. Me and Cassidy mainly. He's also biting. Something which we are trying to put a stop to right away. He's like a little puppy dog! It's brought a whole new meaning to that little poem for me... (boys are made of snails and puppy dog tails....) He's in constant motion, investigating everything, getting into everything, biting everything! His teeth are just as sharp as a little puppy's too!! Let's see what else is he up to? OH. His new trick is opening up my fridge and getting into it. Right now he's only been getting into the stuff on the bottom of the fridge door like my sticks of butter, but it won't be long before he's making all sorts of ungodly messes on my floor. He's also developing quite the little knack for flirting! It's rather adorable actually. He plays coy and puts his head to the side almost to his shoulder all the while smiling at the object of his affection. All in all he's quite the little guy, keeping me busy for sure! He's so much fun, and so infectious! I'd rather watch him for hours rather than the tv. He's more fun.

Corinne is getting so big too! We looked at her the other day, and couldn't believe our eyes! She's not a little girl anymore! She doesn't have that little girl look anymore. It seems overnight that she became a little young lady, and we're just left figuring out when it happened. She's very excited about Mommy learning how to sew, as is big sister. Her a little more though I think. She went with me to the fabric store a couple of weeks ago, and was so excited when she found two fabrics that she loved, and was even more excited when Mommy bought them. (for $1.25/yd it was very affordable) They're cute too, and they match. They're both pink, one is a paisley design, the other a heart design. She can't wait to have a dress or skirt made out of them! There actually might be enough for both! Won't she be surprised. =o) She's also doing really well with learning and writing her alphabet. She can now spell her name, knows all of the alphabet by sight, can write almost the entire alphabet, and almost knows the entire alphabet by sound. (She is only 4) She's also started ballet and has had 3 classes so far. She LOVES it!!!! She never got as excited about gymnastics as she does ballet. It's so cute to watch too! In her class they are all 4 year olds, and at her dance studio they ONLY teach ballet, and they start off with the basics of ballet. Watching her class do all the positions and try to hold them is like watching someone try and stand a wet noodle on end. They wibble wobble every which direction. It's adorable! Here's a funny little story about Corinne. I made 26 shoe prints out of felt and on one side put all capital letters, and the other side all lower case letters. It's called Corinne's alphabet stomp. (An idea I found online) Last week I asked Corinne to stomp on the letter that says... and I would say the sound of the letter. This is what transpired:
Mommy: "Corinne stomp on the letter that says /y/u/h/ like yo-yo"
Corinne stomped on the Y.
Mommy: "Corinne stomp on the letter that says /l/ like Lion"
Corinne stomped on the L. We repeated a second time this time around it went something like this:
Mommy: "Corinne stomp on the letter that says /y/u/h/ like yellow"
Corinne stomps on the L.
Mommy: "No Corinne not the L" and I repeat myself. She again steps on the L. So I say,
"Corinne stomp on the letter that says /y/u/h/ like yogurt." She AGAIN steps on the L! I tell her "No, not the L"
I asked her to say the words yellow and yogurt.
Corinne: "LELLOW" "LOGURT"
I just laughed. For some reason she can say 'yo-yo', but not yogurt, or yellow. No matter how many times you correct her, Yogurt is Logurt, and Yellow is Lellow.

Cassidy is doing well all the way around. She's training for Level 5 in gymnastics, and is really doing well during her practices. Her coaches are pushing them very hard, and the amount of strength and conditioning they do is unbelievable! I couldn't do half of what Cassidy does on a regular basis. She's also doing really well in school. Math will more than likely be her strong suit. She gets it so quickly! We're much farther ahead in Math than we are in anything else. She's learning fractions and basic geometry right now, and it's coming so easily to her. It doesn't confuse her at all. Me on the other hand never understood geometry, and fractions, well let's just say math is NOT my strong suit. Her reading is doing very well too. She's starting to develop a love for reading, which I am so thrilled about! Especially since reading has long been a favorite for me since I was 3 years old. She sits for hours with a book, and she is also developing a love for her Bible. Another thing I am SO thrilled about! She will sit there for long periods of time, reading passages in her bible. What a blessing it is to see your little one developing a love for God's word, and her love of God growing stronger!!

Anyway, that's what's going on with the Kids in this neighborhood. Mommy and Daddy will update later, but I'll leave you with this;
ONLY 6 WEEKS LEFT TO GO BEFORE BABY NUMBER 4 IS HERE!!!!!

URGENT PRAYER NEEDED!

We are in dire need of prayer right now!

We are under yet another attack from Satan, and this is by far the biggest one we've come under as of yet. Hands down! Richard and I are trying to be very strong right now, and trying to protect our daughters, and our family from the destruction that Satan is trying to bring on us. We feel scared, and angry right now, as well as betrayed. Those are normal reactions for anybody considering the circumstances, but we are striving for the not so normal reactions; the Godly reactions, of love, faith, and trust. Which is hard at the moment.

We can't do this alone, and we know that. The situation we have found ourselves in is humanly impossible for anyone to get through without the LORD JESUS CHRIST on their side!BUT with the LORD on our side we know that we will be victorious in the end, because our GOD is stronger than anything Satan can throw at us! We have the LORD JESUS CHRIST on our side, which is more than enough to suffice, but we also need vigilant prayer! From ourselves, and anyone who is willing to join in this battle with us through prayer! Please keep our family in your prayers, ask others to pray for us, put us on any and all prayer lists you know of!

Here are our prayer requests:

PRAY for our daughters CASSIDY and CORINNE - that the LORD would shelter and protect them from Satan.

PRAY for Richard and I -that we would NEVER take our eyes off the LORD through this very painful time. PRAY that we would be strong and rely WHOLEHEARTEDLY on the LORD to bring us through this, and NOT on our own strength or accord! PRAY that through this attack the LORD would be glorified, that we would find JOY in this suffering!

PRAY for Steve Wilson (Richard's father) he needs your prayers also at this time.

PRAY for the social worker Jamie Estrada- that the LORD would OPEN his eyes and heart to the TRUTH in this matter and quickly put a STOP to it!!

THANK YOU ALL for your prayers! Our family has never been in greater need for it than at this moment in time!

Here are a few versus of great comfort to me through this ordeal:

~ "My comfort in my suffering is this: YOUR promises preserve my life"
-Psalm 119:50

~ "Trouble and distress have come upon me, but YOUR command are my delight"
-Psalm 119:143

~ "I rise before dawn and cry for help, I have put my hope in your word"
-Psalm119:147

Okay, I'm obsessed!!

So as some of you know, I've decided to get my butt in gear after 6 years of talk and learn how to sew. Thanks to my Auntie Becky. (THANKS!) The sewing machine was purchased, the pattern for the new baby's bedding was purchased, and the fabrics were purchased-all for really good deals of course- and I'm rearin' to go! Sunday night I cut all of the batting for my bumper panels and pinned the batting to the panels. Then last night I was up super late-not that I would've slept anyway- and I cut all the patterns from my new pattern. (long story...) Then I attempted to lay out the patterns on the fabric and start pinning. Three hours later I was still confused, growing more frustrated because the pictures in the pattern instructions didn't make sense to me!! It was too late to call anyone for help, so I resorted to the internet. (Another addiction, I admit) I went to Yahoo! Answers and posted my HELP ME! question. Within minutes a wonderfully kind woman emailed me to help me further. I told her my dilemma, and she answered me back right away, solving my dilemma! Why didn't I think of that earlier? Anyhoo, I layed out the pieces of the diaper holder, and the crib organizer on the fabric, and got it all pinned. Still a little freaked out about starting to cut. Maybe because it seems so final to me. I don't know. Maybe tonight. I also found some tutorials on how to read patterns, how to stitch the basic stitches, how to tie the beginning knot in your thread, and so on. How amazing! I love the internet! I'm quickly becoming absorbed my this new found passion of mine. Not to the point where it's taking over my life, but I can see why people go into this professionally! I found three blogs that I frequent almost daily. Here's their links and once you go see for yourself, you'll see why I not only love their blogs, but why I'm so in love with the mere idea of all the possibilities that lay before me!! =o)

Thankful and Grateful

I would like to take a moment and THANK the LORD for everything he has done for us, and everyone he has put into my family's lives! I would also like to say that I am so proud of my husband, and so thankful for everything that he has done, and is doing for our family. He has been working his little tail off to provide for us, and at times wondering if he were doing enough. I say yes. He's doing enough. He's relying on the Lord, and that's all I could ever ask for!! He has put himself aside, and sacrificed a lot for our family to make sure that I can stay home full time. Not only to take care of the house, and kids, but to home school them as well. What a blessing this has been! God is faithful, and he has been merciful with us all! We have gone through some very scary times in the two years we've been married, but God has never let us fall, and has kept ALL of His promises! Even though we don't live in luxury by any means, God has more than provided for us through Richard, and the wonderful, loving people He has put in our lives. We have a loving, faithful, merciful God, a strong relationship centered on our Lord, three, soon to be four beautiful healthy children, food on our table, clothes on our back, a roof over our head, and an AMAZING Pastor who tends so carefully to his flock. What more could there be? I am so thankful for everything God has done in my life, and thankful that everything my wonderful, loving husband has done for this family. He truly is amazing, and I love him more and more each day!

We love you all!

Chaos...

Do you ever find yourself running around like a chicken with its head cut off? Do you ever find yourself in the midst of intense moments or even days of chaos? All of us can I'm sure. I have found myself in that state more often than not in this last week or so. Really there is no good reason why, except for one. This last week or so, I haven't been in the word like I should be. I've had every reason not to be, "I'm tired", "I'm busy", "I have too much to do", "there's not enough time", but in the end there is no good reason other than lack of discipline. It's funny really the way that God shows us the areas in our lives that we need to work on. I just took a baby present to a friend yesterday and I got them, the best baby gift I was ever given. A biblical guidance book on disciplining and training your children. She was thankful for the gift, and I was thankful for the book, in my own life. Then all hell broke loose. Kai spiked a high temperature and the girls started going hog wild! Normally they are very well behaved at other people's houses, and out in public, but yesterday was a whole other can of worms! In one moment everything came unglued, me more than anything else, and the chaos set in. My stress level rose, and in return the girls behavior got a little more out of control, and Kai was, well sick. Having read the book I just gave as a gift many times over I knew how to react in situations like those, and how to discipline immediately. But having not been in the Word like I should have been, not having been praying like I should be, and not coming to the Lord daily for strength, wisdom, and guidance all hell broke loose, and I was the one left angry, frustrated, and stressed. Even a little embarrassed, but that's a pride thing and a whole other issue in itself. I apologized for everyone, and we made our departure sooner than I would have liked, but it had to be done. It was on the way home when I was practically in tears over the stress-that I was putting on myself mind you- that the Lord showed me a little nugget of guidance. On the floorboard of my car was the very book I had just given as a gift! I had to chuckle, and then it hit me. If all this time I had just been going to the Lord daily, delved into the Word, lifted EVERYTHING up in prayer like I should, and put into practice the stuff I have learned about discipline none of this would have been that bad. I let my discipline go, therefore my children let there's go. They reflect me! When I'm stressed, they're stressed. When I'm at peace, they're at peace. When I stay disciplined in going before the Lord, and staying in his Word, they will see that, and in turn learn to do the same.

Thanks Lord! It wasn't quite a lightning bolt, but it was pretty close. =o)

MY "BABY" PROJECT

While shopping for Baby #4 I was discouraged about the baby bedding. I love the bedding that Kai has, though it is not my absolute favorite so to speak, I love the colors, and the freshness of it. I was considering purchasing a duplicate set for Baby #4 but at $180 used, and over $200 new that was out of the question. So I talked to my mom, who suggested calling my aunt, who in turn agreed to teach me how to sew. YAY!! I'm very excited can you tell? Last Sunday my Aunt took me to M&L Fabrics in Anaheim and I was immediately intimidated by the project that lay ahead of me. I found a pattern for the bedding, and then I found a $200 machine discounted to $78!! Perfectly under my $80 budget. So, since Sunday, I've been browsing online at all the different fabric stores, discount stores, designer stores etc.. I stumbled across a couple really fantastic online stores that have a wide range of modern, pop-art, and retro reproduction fabrics. I found "Stars on Mars" Two Young Street by Prints Charming and I was in love at first sight. Isn't it fantastic?

Then I found this ladies blog hailing this fabric and makers, and I fell in love all over again. Here's what she did with the fabric. (The blog address:http://treefalldesign.typepad.com/tree_fall/2007/10/prints-charming.html)

It's out of my price range though, so I won't be making any baby bedding out of this stuff. But! I do have another project in mind for this fantastic print.... which I'll reveal at another date.

I do have a second choice fabric for the baby bedding, and I actually was able to find it at a discounted price, though still out of my price range... I'll keep looking, I'm good at finding bargains. Here's the second choice fabric. Cute.
