The kids and I took part in this Family Film Festival put on by Regal last year.
It was our first year.
We missed A LOT of the movies we wanted to see!
We know what NOT to do THIS year however!
We did get to see some movies last year, and we had a blast.
The best part?
IT WAS ALL FREE!
I HIGHLY recommend this to all of you who have a Regal nearby!
Here are my tips for making your FREE MOVIE a success!
-Arrive EARLY! [At least an hour early for popular movies!]
All tickets are on a FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE BASIS, and you better believe there are TONS of parents out there loading up their kids and their kids' friends to beat the heat with a FREE movie! Not only that, but there are Summer Camps who take advantage of this FREEBIE!
SO BE PREPARED TO ARRIVE EARLY AND CAMP OUT AS CLOSE AS POSSIBLE TO THE TICKET BOOTH!
-BRING SNACKS!
Even though the movie is free, the theatre will still charge you for popcorn and candy, at a discounted rate. You don't have to be super sneaky about what you bring, but I don't recommend carting your stash in for all to see. The theatre employees may scorn you... or at least chastise you. If you do bring your own snacks, PLEASE THROW YOUR TRASH AWAY!
That way we don't anger the company giving our kids FREE MOVIES ALL SUMMER LONG!
-BE FLEXIBLE!
Even if you arrive early there may be a long line of people who got their earlier! You may or may not get to see the movie you were intending to see. If that's the case you can always try for the other movie, as they show two different movies every Tuesday and Wednesday over the summer. If you had your heart set on a specific movie and you weren't able to watch it check the listings at the other Theatres in town. Usually they show the same movies, but on different weeks.
-HAVE FUN!
It's a FREE movie, and you're in doors in the cool air conditioning avoiding the summer heat!
Can't get better than that!
